Struck down with illness and injury today meaning i haven’t been able to go ahead with the planned 100 miles bike ride and 2 mile swim. On the upside i’ve found the time to set up this page to start chronicling my 12×12 challenge and the forthcoming run in the congo. This missive and the following ones have been something that i’ve been wanting to do for the last few weeks.

I’ve been battling with injury for the last few months and today it has really begun to bite. i’d be lying if i didn’t say my body feels like it is beginning to reach breaking point. But hopefully a few days rest will sort me out. I’ve got my 7th marathon in a few days time, in the Asics store in London and i’m determined to run my socks off for that one. However, the dark cloud that sits above me is the Iron Man on the 1st August. I’m petrified by the prospect of swimming over 2 miles, cycling 112 miles and then finishing the day off with a marathon. I’m starting to think that i’ve bitten off more than i can chew. Is it possible to ‘wing-it’ in an Iron Man? I guess we’ll find out.
